Google mobile labs madrid folderThis week the Partners Mobile Labs event organized by Google was held at the Hotel NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding and was attended by some of the agencies in the Partners program that were certified in mobile advertising. On this occasion, the agency could invite up to two clients so that they could learn first-hand about the latest mobile trends and get a mobile audit for their website.

The event was focused on the role of mobile devices in the daily life of Internet users and the importance of having a website well adapted to mobile devices . to take advantage of all the opportunities it offers.

Google mobile labs madrid presentationThe day was divided into two parts, in the morning there were 6 very interesting presentations on trends, opportunities and improvements in the usability of mobile web pages. In the afternoon, agency clients had the opportunity to attend a workshop in which Google experts gave support to perform a mobile usability test for their website or online store.

Some of the most interesting general concepts that were presented were the following:

  • In addition to providing solutions to customers, we must anticipate their needs thanks to the information provided by mobile devices.
  • Use websites to convert and apps to build customer loyalty.
  • Google mobile labs madrid participantsUse of methodologies such as Atomic Design as present and future in the design of multi-device sites.

In addition, very good tips were given to improve the performance of websites for users using different devices. Some of the highlights were:

  • Measure usability through effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction.
  • Limit links and decision making.
  • Present only one call to action per page.
  • Guide the user through the conversion process.
  • Use standardized icons.

With all the information that was shared, it was confirmed that the massive use of the Internet through mobile devices is a fact and an opportunity that many companies are not knowing how to take advantage of. The trend points to the fact that users will increasingly use different devices more often, not only cell phones, but also others that are gaining ground such as smartwatches or televisions with Internet connection. Therefore, you need to stay ahead of the trend by adapting your websites to be user-friendly and convert all potential customers. This will make advertising investments, such as AdWords campaigns, more effective and profitable.
